Battle against the odds for eight or so years, tour the UK, Europe and Canada and play countless sellout shows, festivals and generally be a live favourite pretty much everywhere you go.  Release your first album to huge critical acclaim and radio play.  Yes, you are Four Day Hombre, one of the country's favourite underground acts and sometimes you just don't realise how popular you are and that, frankly, your standards of songwriting and performance make many of today's so-called superstars sound like a Britain's Got Talent also ran.  So what do you do next?  You change your name, that's what, and start all over again.  Nobody can say this wonderful wonderful band is not without balls and hopefully your humble correspondent will be eating his words this time next year.  They've grown with us through the years; please welcome them in their new York home.  Highly recommended!!

Wow music fan, I remember this sort of carry on from about a year ago, stressful it was but no more. Thank god!! (anyway that's another story) Thanks for checking us out though.

Micky and rockguy, what band are you in? I'll be up for coming to see you and I promise to give you an objective opinion. And I'll email you direct rather than pan you on the internet.

For anyone reading this thread, take a look at myspace.com/dorienstarremusic and judge the clip for yourselves. Perhaps you could also consider the reaction the crowd gave who were actually there, and we didn't pay them.

@Moses80 - so you ARE a member of the band. Just as i thought. So, that would make "brown eyed girl " a girlfriend. Ha.

Moses, Moses, Moses you are silly. Its quite obvious that "micky willis" and "rockguy " are members of the same band and they have decided to trash talk you. You probably played with them. They both clearly wrote their messages just after each-other. They probably dislike you because your jeans are tighter than theirs or your shoes were pointier. If you know the band you should name and shame them as you are getting a real going over.

So here we are Moses80, I saw your reply which spurned me to listen to your band and watch a small clip. In my first post i was just giving advice. Now i am speaking as a music fan. You are average at best. Boring and sometimes even annoying. From your clip you have no excitement on stage.

How can an individuals opinion about something that you CHOOSE to present to the world be "harsh" or "unfair". A band performing is NOT a phenomenal thing. There are so many people in bands now. The good ones should be praised. You should NOT get a cookie for trying.

Are you trying to say you know who i am because i can assure you we have never met. I have never seen you play and after being on your myspace i can assure you i never will.

I am going to start my day job now which i truly hope all the members of Dorien Starre have.

Firstly, this post below looks like one of those abusive threads that you see on youtube. They're harsh and unfair and seem to forget that whats most important is that people writing, practicing and performing is a phenomenal thing and people should be more positive.
Secondly, it's so blatant who the person is who is moaning about Dorien Starre, personal relationships should have nothing to do with the the way in which the bands hard work is judged.

I came across this review and in response to "brown eyed girl" and "moses80", first of all i am guessing you are either members of the band or girlfriends of the band OR even more pathetic maybe the mother of certain band members. People are allowed to have different opinions. So somebody thinks you're shit. So what?!!!. Maybe loads of people do. Don't take comments so personally. It really exposes your insecurities as a band.

WHAT THE BLOODY HELL ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT JOKER.. YOU CLEARLY HAVE SOME MALFUNCTION OF THE EARDRUM TO TYPE NONSENSE LIKE THAT 'MICKEY WILLIS' IF THAT IS YOUR ACTUAL NAME.. HOW EXACTLY WOULD YOU KNOW THE GIGS ARE EMPTY, SURELY THIS MEANS YOU'VE SEEN THEM MORE THAN YOU SAY.. AND APPARENTLY YOU DESPISE THEM.. HOW CAN A BAND WITH NO PERSONALITY PROVOKE SUCH A RESPONSE.. THINK ITS SOMEONE ELSE WHO'S CONFUSED!!

Micky,

Well like you I have an opinion too. I really enjoyed Dorien Starre and thought they were the best band on the night! Great sound and personality! Were you actually there?

hope and social are cool but bands like dorien starre make me sick. the jutes and talk to angels make me proud of the leeds music scene and then there are bands like dorien starre that make me want to cry. there gigs are always empty and there is a reason for that.
let us all avoid bands with no personality, confused style (ds look like emos but in their thirties) and pouncy mainstream sound.
