Winners of best duo in this year's Radio 2 Folk Awards and previously nominated nine times in the Best Duo, Best Song and Best Live Act categories, Chris and Julie first met in The Albion Band in 1993. Of course, both are exceptional individual writers of some note but when combining their writing talents something unique and special occurs. Compared to the like of Mary Chapin Carpenter and the Indigo Girls their songs have been covered by Fairport Convention, Lindisfarne, Barbara Dickson, Christine Collister, Kellie While, Mary Duff and Mary Black (Thorn Upon the Rose) and Chris has made many appearances with Fairport Convention, most recently to take the place of the late Sandy Denny re-creating the classic Fairport album 'Liege & Lief' at Cropredy with the original 1969 line-up. Gorgeous music and eloquently crafted songs, then, from two dynamic performers and multi-instrumentalists, formidable folk forces in their own right and unbeatable together!
