Influenced by Sparklehorse, Elliott Smith, The Shins and Fionn Regan, the wordsmith imagery of multi-award winning Australian Josh Pyke - "bottles up the sea breeze" and "pours it loose through your garden/So the hinges on your windows rust and colour/Like the boats pulled up on the sand for the summer/And your sweet clean clothes go stiff on the line" is just stunning. No wonder the quality press is gushing about the timelessness of his work. Joined here in a co-headlining tour with ex-Scottish epic soundscapers Delgados founding member Emma Pollock, and destined for great things, whimsical but rocky, sensitive and thoughtful but full of attitude. With a knack for straight-up great tunes and pop sensibility, let's hope Emma (appearing here with a band)  reaches the peaks denied her last project. We reckon it's game on ...
